THE ELSA PLATFORM

The Elsa Platform “Together, let’s fight AIDS in Africa” was founded as a joint initiative from five French NGOs active in fighting AIDS epidemic. This partnership aims at developing and co-ordinating actions, support and exchanges towards organizations caring for people living with HIV/AIDS in Africa.

The ELSA Platform is composed of 6 French associations : AIDES, the CRIPS, Sidaction, Sida Info Service, Solidarité Sida and le Mouvement Français pour le Planning Familial.

At this point, 80 African associations in 27 countries are partners of the platform.

June, 2008

 On-going internships

Alfred OUEDRAOGO  from the Union of Burkinabese truckdrivers against AIDS (URBLS, Bobo Dioulasso, BF), will be in Paris from June, 14th till July, 8th, working with theSolidays team at Solidarité Sida. This internship is held on the topic "organisation of fundrasing events ".

On-going mission
Emmanuel SCHAER
, the creator of Santia, a software
specially designed for the PLWA's follow-up, is running a mission in Togo and Benin from June, 3rd to the 25th in order to implement the software and train the associations' staff (AMC and EVT in Lome; Racines in Cotonou).

 World Fund call for proposals - Round 8

French associations working in the fight against AIDS at international level question the orientation of the World Fund towards increased participation of the private sector in the national AIDS programmes.

The selection committee has chosen 13 applicants to benefit from an individual internship to be organized by the end of year 2008.

Since it was initiated in March, 2002, the platform budget was provided for by the French Ministry for Foreign Affairs. The current funding program runs till June, 2008..
